Mariana Pimentel (Fortaleza, 1983) é artista da dança, gestora e produtora cultural, atuante na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Estudou no Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, Bélgica e é licenciada pela Escola Superior de Dança de Lisboa. É mestre em Cultura Contemporânea e Novas Tecnologias pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa com pesquisa na presença do corpo na dança contemporânea e suas relações de alteridade. Seus trabalhos autorais tratam do tensionamento político entre corpo, espaço, identidades e noções de coletividade. Integra o Núcleo AND Lab Rio e do AND Collective, e colabora na Escola do Reparar. Seu trabalho foi apresentado em festivais, encontros e escolas de artes performativas em diferentes países, principalmente na América do Sul e na Europa. (foto: Tiago Cadete)

Mariana Pimentel (Fortaleza, 1983) is a dance artist, producer and cultural manager. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, Belgium and graduated at Lisbon Dance School. She holds a Master degree in Contemporary Culture and New Technologies from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Her research interests focus on the body's presence in contemporary dance and the political relations between body, space, identities and collectivity. She is a member of the Rio de Janeiro AND Lab Cluster and of AND Collective, and collaborates in AND Lab's School of Reparar. Her work was presented in festivals, encounters and performative art schools, in different countries, mainly in South America and Europe.
ABOUT THE 'PRACTICES OF GATHERING' CLASSES
Practices of Gathering are an experiment with the poetics of clustering. It activates reciprocity through meditative presence, small dances and the free flow of movement among people. It brings together experiences that invite the collective body to express its presence in the different spaces and layers that compose our corporeality.
