Thaise Nardim is a performance artist, teacher, and researcher. She has been living in Palmas, Tocantins (Brazil) since 2010, where she works as a professor in the Drama program at the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT). She holds a Ph.D. in Performing Arts, a Master's degree in Arts, and a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). She is also a specialist in Art, Education, and Contemporary Technologies from the University of BrasÃlia (UnB), and acted as a postdoctoral researcher in Education at UFT. As a performance artist, Thaise has presented her work at various national and international festivals and venues, such as the Mostra Internacional de Performance - MIP (Brazil, 2021) and La Juan Gallery (Spain, 2016), and has participated in residencies such as the Drift Project with Zecora Ura Theatre at Gasworks in London (2017). She was the organizer of the Festival de Apartamento, a self-managed performance art event that had 15 editions. In Palmas, she organizes "Função - Festival de Performances Urgente" and the urban performances festival "Escala 1:1 - ações humanas para espaços monumentais," both of which are partnerships between UFT, where she teaches, and Coletivo Flácido, the managing organization of Casa Flácida cultural center, which hosts the actions of Palmas AND Cluster. As a researcher, Thaise has published "Rabiscar lÃngua com cacos de floresta - escrever e performar em pesquisa-docência-criação" (EDUFT, 2020) and edited "Artes e MÃdias: um panorama por pesquisadores da Amazônia brasileira" (EDUFT, 2021). As a poet, she has published "Aranhas pensam com a teia" (Editora Urutau, 2022).
