Invitation from Amarelo Silvestre

"How are you?

We are organising a return visit by anthropologist and artist Fernanda Eugénio to Canas de Senhorim, in a model of revitalisation of the hANDling workshop, sharing MO_AND tools as a force for bringing together and repairing relationships between people who share a ‘visible’ territory from Canas de Senhorim.

From here, in Canas de Senhorim, we can see - and now we are going to err on the side of caution, because when we list things we make mistakes - Alfafar, Arganil, Barril de Alva, Campo Benfeito, Carvalhal Redondo, Chanca, Coimbra, Coja, Covilhã, Decabelos, Molelos, Montemor-o-Velho, Sabugal, Tondela, Valezim and Viseu.

So, if we can see so much, and it is never everything we see, we wonder why not call the people from these places within sight to a meeting in Canas de Senhorim? So that we can notice and put happiness into perspective.

In this mano a mano, in this place of equals, we will share a participatory and hearty snack, after the hANDling workshop proposed by Fernanda.

While tea and hot chestnuts warm our bodies, we propose that our minds look towards (im)possible happiness.

At a time of renewed local government, what actions can we propose, or take, or what actions are we already taking, that can lead to different kinds of happiness? These actions can be very simple or very complex. Very feasible or very utopian. What are we doing to bring about happiness, or what can we do to bring about happiness? We ask that, in addition to small contributions to the dinner table, you bring testimonials, proposals, and actions of your own on this path to happiness that you can share briefly.

Shall we do it? Can we count on your presence?

We will meet on Saturday, 29th November, between 2pm and 7pm.

Programme: 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: hANDling workshop | 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.: snack and various congratulations | Location: Salão d'As Casas do Visconde, in Canas de Senhorim.

Feel free to share this information and bring people who are visible from your location.

Everyone - from a wide range of professional and educational backgrounds - is very welcome.

Please just let us know how many people will be attending so we can organise ourselves.

Thank you very much for your willingness to celebrate with us.

Best wishes, Fernando and Rafaela”

The hANDling workshop offers participants an introduction to the inhabited philosophy of the Modus Operandi AND. In this module, the main conceptual tools that make up the ethical guidelines of the practice will be presented and the basic principles of the AND board game will be shared. This workshop is led by Fernanda Eugenio, creator of MO_AND and director of AND Lab.

The hANDling interface line of the School of Reparar focuses on the (trans)formative and sharing dimension of MO_AND as a mediation and composition tool based on the exercise of Repair, on the care of the common and on an ethic of reciprocity and sufficiency. It offers intensive and extensive workshops on the transmission and practice of the constellation of games and conceptual tools of the Modus Operandi AND. The name hANDling invokes the semantic stain of the verb 'to handle' to signal a double commitment: on the one hand, with the ethics of handling, as opposed to manipulation, which guides the Modus Operandi AND; on the other, with the delivery/offering of our tools, creating situations of transmission and sharing that favor their incorporation through attendance, practice and the cultivation of the autonomy and singularity of each practitioner.
