Unfolding the Modus Operandi AND
Workshop with Fernanda Eugenio
June 18 and 19, 2 pm to 8 pm (PT)
About the Modus Operandi AND
Through practical exercises that put thinking and doing on the same plane, the MO_AND allows direct and experiential investigation of the singular and collective mechanisms of coexistence, proposing concrete tools to enhance processes of collaboration, co-learning and negotiation of coexistence. In particular, it allows understanding behavioral patterns and relational tendencies, contributing to the development of emotional self-regulation skills, attention self-management (selection, focus and coordination of stimuli), and consequent decision-making and respective performance.
Within the scope of the workshops, the 'board game' interface is the one that serves as the basis for sharing, then unfolded into different more complex exercises, with different scales, in the studio or outdoors, depending on the group and the duration of the meeting. In this game there are no pre-established rules, but immanent rules, which emerge from the play itself, that is, from the co-positioning and co-responsibility of those who participate. Through fold-and-unfold work and direct handling of the materiality of events, it is possible to 'think with your hands', embodying the issues of coexistence, sustainability, creativity, empathy/attunement, availability to difference and of reciprocity.
About this workshop
This intensive unfolding workshop offers complex practical-theoretical contact with MO_AND.
On the one hand, different modulations of 'board games' are covered, exploring the variants of the so-called Interference Zone Games, in which we experimentally research the relational dynamics of society, community and intimacy. On the other hand, we enter the question of the circumscription of individual and collective affection, through another set of exercises: the Transfer Zone Games, which allow us to detail the path that goes from the formulation to the 'per-formation' of an event. Creating conditions to come and go between different fractal cuts – from the smallest to the biggest, from the inside to the outside, from the studio to the everyday, from the collective situation to the intimate/individual – this immersion in the practice of MO_AND allows people to participants to appropriate a fractal sensibility and embody an ethic of reciprocity and sufficiency, both with themselves and in relation to the way they take a stand with others.
This workshop has no prerequisites and allows anyone to participate, although it is preferably aimed at people who have had previous contact with MO_AND.
