LANDscape | Ritual Journey with MO_AND

In-Depth Module/Immersive Experience in Modus Operandi AND | with Fernanda Eugenio, Mariana Pimentel, and Manoela Rangel

July 24th to August 1st, 2026

The LANDscape interface line focuses on the dimension of individual and collective (self)repair through the creation of ritual experiences in retreat mode. A landscape programme constructed in the form of a ritual journey of trans-formation, in which the Modus Operandi AND multiplies into a set of more complex embodied somatic and political-affective propositions, LANDscape summons different modulations of the AND constellation, alongside ritual pieces specially created each time to facilitate the sensitive and experiential experience of the theme-question.

LANDscape are thus hybrid objects, between the participatory ritual piece and the immersive course.  They take place in locations close to nature, in order to find conditions of stillness and contour conducive to a work of re-membering the sensory perception of inseparability, as a political gesture of care and (self)repair of the embodied sense of power-agency and responsibility.

Each LANDscape is unrepeatable, taking on a unique dramaturgy each time, combining different performative-transformative experiences in a single journey. They act in the (re)activation of co-feeling through intensive coexistence (sleeping/eating together, walks, immersive socialising, etc.) and in the (re)approach to a more-than-human biodiversity, leading participants on an intimate-collective journey of ex-conjuration of the Irreparable.

The LANDscape Course-Retreat module concludes the MO_AND training journey and directly addresses the theme of this edition, proposing an in-depth process of self-repair with a focus on the ritual dimension of MO_AND, although it also includes the practice of games, with an emphasis on those that focus on the body-territory. Lasting one week, it takes place in the small village of Barril de Alva, Arganil, Beira Interior, hosted by the Trust Collective space, involving studio and outdoor practices.

Each LANDscape is a unique experience, for which a singular dramaturgy is created that articulates different somatic-political and ritual practices in a single durational experience-piece, with a performative-transformative process as its guiding thread, relating the theme of the year to the intimacy of each participant.

As an immersive landscape programme, the LANDscape retreat-course unfolds into a collective and embodied journey of artistic-political research, delving into the ethical and community tools of the Modus Operandi  AND and constituting a body of implication in the Repair of the Irreparable.

Led by Fernanda Eugenio and supported by fellow practitioners from the AND Collective, the journey begins with small-scale AND board games, moving towards practices in which the body as a somatic-political aggregate becomes a board for games of care-healing(doria), also including outdoor games dedicated to researching inseparability with more-than-human biodiversity, in an encounter with herbs and plants, earth and river. The introductory workshop occupies the first day of the immersion, sharing the conceptual tools that make up the language, modulation of presence, and ethics of MO_AND, establishing common ground so that we can, together, take risks over the following days, delving into a more complex plane of sensitive and experiential research, at once political and affective, intimate and collective, concrete and magical, through performative-ritual modes of ex-conjuration of the systemic Irreparable.
