SCHOOL OF REPARAR 2026 [Edition #7]
Re-flexo & Re-clame: the recall of mystery
understANDing | Research-Creation with MO_AND
Creative Residency Module with Modus Operandi AND | with Fernanda Eugenio & Coletivo AND
16 to 28 March | alKantara space (Lisbon)
20 to 26 April | AND Lab space (Lisbon)
27 April to 3 May | Trust Collective (Barril de Alva, Arganil)
The understANDing interface line forms a continuous plan of research and creation with Modus Operandi AND, in which the methodology folds in on itself, based on a theme-question each year, thus remaining a living organism in constant (re)formulation. It has the character of ongoing internal research and is open to external participation in two ways: through the selection of three Resident Artists for participation and co-creation-research of AND artefacts.
The name understANDing points to a way of investigating-creating that deviates from interpretation and representation, committing itself to direct experience, the sustaining of not-knowing and attunement with embodied wisdom, beyond the human illusion of perspective.
The participation of resident artists in the research-creation plan for the 2026 edition will take place through collaboration in three understANDing creative residencies dedicated to the current work in progress, Baralho Amparo & Encanto (provisional title), to be held between March and April at alKantara, AND Lab and Trust Collective. This will be followed by the (trans)formative modules hANDling, from May to July at AND Lab space, and finally the LANDscape retreat at Trust Collective, which will conclude the programme during the last week of July.
Through this module, recently reincorporated into the part of the Programme open to participation, we wish to open up the possibility of creating with MO_AND as it (re)creates itself, allowing a small group to join Fernanda Eugenio each year in the context of AND Lab’s ongoing research-creation process and constant (re)formulation of new conceptual tools, games, ritual propositions, and other artefacts.
