Occupations of the AND Lab Space

Fazer Comum / Do Common is a housing program from Espaço AND Lab, whose main objective is to contribute to the dynamization of the artistic and cultural fabric of Lisbon, providing space for work, dialogue, meeting, research and sharing of practices inserted in the scope of work AND Lab - Art, Politics, Community. Extensive (self)care and expression-creation practices are welcomed, such as regular classes/sessions, occasional workshops and artistic residencies.





OCCUPATIONS OF THE AND LAB SPACE



The local artistic community, cultural agents and the public in general are invited to mobilize together in the making (of) common, spreading it from the most immediate surroundings and researching, through frequentation, ways to infiltrate and sustain community modes of coexistence in urban everyday life, combining (self)care, sharing artistic activities and responsible co-participation in the collective plan.

  • AND Haps (temporary meeting area that periodically opens the AND Lab Space to unique proposals and events, presentations and sharing of creations in process)



WE OFFER

  • Use of the AND Lab Studio, located 5 minutes walk from the Cabo Ruivo metro station (Red Line). It has a 74m2 studio, with black vinyl flooring, suitable for movement practices. It has air conditioning and heater; Sound Column with connection via Bluetooth or Video Projector Cable; Pantry with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, electric kettle and toaster, in an adjacent room.

  • Support for dissemination: inclusion of the activity in the monthly newsletter, AND Lab website, poster of the space's monthly program and other program communications. Possibility of creating an e-flyer.

  • Possibility of carrying out a public presentation/sharing, integrated into the AND Hap process displays.



SCHEDULES

  • Residencies & Rehearsals - in shifts: morning (10am-2pm) | afternoon (2pm-6pm) | night (6pm-10pm) OR daily (10am to 6pm);

  • Open Practices & Regular Classes - morning times 8am to 9am and 9am to 10am | after-work hours 6:30pm-7:30pm, 7:30pm-8:30pm, 8:30pm-9:30pm | Possibility of other times, depending on space availability;

  • Workshops & Occasional Events - days and times to be defined, depending on the proposal and space availability.



COSTS

(for activities that receive financial support and/or that will generate revenue):


  • Residencies & Rehearsals: €17 per shift (4h) or €25 per day (6h). Price negotiable for receptions lasting more than 3 days.

  • Practices & Regular Classes: €5/hour

  • Workshops & Occasional Events: €6/hour

 


FREE APPOINTMENTS

  • Unfunded research-creation activities: free hosting of 1 residence per month, guided by a policy of equity and representation, in which projects proposed/led by black and/or trans/transvestite people will be prioritized. Duration of 5 or 10 days (shift to be defined, depending on space availability) + completion of final AND Hap.

PARTNERSHIPS



Regular classes: Relational, with Déa Paulino

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 18h30-19h20

A meditative practice, based on affection and respect for singularities, carried out from a pause that invites immersion. Aimed at pairs, trios, small groups or as an individual experience. Practices conducted in Portuguese. Click here or on the image for more information and registration.



Periodic Meetings: Authentic Movement, practice for movers
Mondays, 6:30pm-8:30pm, monthly (4 Sep, 2 Oct, 6 Nov)

Mediated by Fernanda Eugenio, Déa Paulino and Sonia Malaquias. For movers experienced in Authentic Movement.



Periodic Meetings: Fasciatherapy and sensitive movement
October 13th and fortnightly, on Fridays, 7:30pm-10pm

In these classes we will wake up the body, become aware of it, connect forgotten parts, give movement to what is immobile. Let's learn to listen to our internal movement, work on being present in the moment and integrate body, mind, spirit and emotions, awakening each person's life potential, achieving a being that expresses itself in its entirety. One-off workshop: Baby & Kids Body-Mind-Mind Dancing, with Ângela Guerreiro October 4th, 11th and 18th, 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Babies aged 0 to 36 months, mothers, fathers and caregivers.

In the Baby/Kids Body-Mind Dancing Courses (Ba/KiBoMiDa), there is a dance between mother, father and/or caregiver(s) and the baby, a non-verbal reciprocity conceived through movement. Started by Ângela Guerreiro, Baby Mind-Body Dance - DaMeCoBebé is a new branch of Dynamic Embodiment™, a Movement system started by Dr. Martha Eddy, which is part of the field of Somatic Movement Education and Therapy. Dynamic Embodiment© is a form of somatic education and movement therapy that integrates skillful and sensitive touch, movement and dialogue. Suitable for all ages, its objectives are to relieve stress, reinforce expressiveness, and balance all aspects linked to the body and psyche. One-off workshop: Lady Ginga, with Nyrhio Sebastião
7th October, 17:00 - 19:00 | Espaço AND Lab

Kizomba is a music and dance created in Angola in the early 1980s, derived from semba, with a mixture of kilapanda and Angolan merengue. Kizomba is danced in pairs, where one person is the guide and the other is guided. LADY GINGA classes, aimed at guided people, consist of sensual, romantic and light movements, in which your GINGA (twerking) is greatly explored.
