About

Kizomba is a music and dance created in Angola in the early 1980s, derived from semba, with a mix of kilapanda and Angolan merengue. Kizomba is danced in pairs, where one person is the leader and the other is the follower. Nyrhio Ribestião learned to dance kizomba in dance schools in the neighborhood where he grew up. He began giving private Kizomba Lady Ginga classes to friends and neighbors. When he moved to the Netherlands in 2021, he accompanied his sister and kizomba teacher @elizasala85_official, improving techniques for group classes. The initiative of the Kizomba Queer (non-heterornative) classes aims to break heteronormative patterns of social dances, freeing the participants from the gender roles present in this dance. __________ Weekly, on Wednesdays, from 8:15pm to 9:30pm (beginners) and from 9:30pm to 10:30pm (intermediate) Single/trial class €5 | Monthly fee €20 with Nyrhio Ribestião | @nyrhioribestiao
